Features
Even though the Sienna has not had a major upgrade since 2004, the minivan compares favorably to its competition. The combination of interior space, drivability and acceleration makes the Sienna one of the best in its class. The LE model of the Sienna includes more features over the basic CE model, such as cruise control, steering wheel mounted audio controls for the CD/MP3 stereo system, a roof rack, heated side mirrors, and a CD changer. Reviewers and current owners agree that for a minivan, the Sienna is a pleasure to drive.
Drawbacks
The Toyota Sienna minivan was not part of the highly publicized recall of Toyota vehicles for the sticking accelerator pedal, but the recall may influence the public’s opinion of any Toyota vehicle. The most frequent complaints from consumers and reviewers were the soft feeling of the brakes and lower gas mileage than expected. Two minor complaints mentioned were that satellite radio is not included and that the optional navigation system will not operate while the vehicle is in motion.

The Sienna’s standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, stability control, driver and passenger front and side airbags, and full length head curtain airbags. A rear camera and front and rear park assist are optional. The Sienna received a Good safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given it a four star crash test rating for the front side driver impact and five star ratings for side impact and passenger front side impact.
