For most people, an F-150 will be more than enough truck for driving, hauling furniture about, and the occasional light towing duty. But if you are someone who needs serious hauling ability, because of involvement in agriculture, construction, or even serious boating, then the F-250 is a perfect tool for the job, retaining comfort while bringing serious power to the job. New features on the 2009 F-250 SD including power telescoping mirrors and a mid-body tool box. Four trim levels are offered, the highest and most luxurious being the Lariat. This package includes 18 inch alloy wheels, running boards, a power-sliding rear window, leather upholstery, and dual powered and heated front seats.
Interior Features
The interior of the Lariat is both comfortable and ruggedly utilitarian. The center stack puts all controls within easy reach of both front-seaters. The door pockets and center consoles provide a massive amount of storage. In fact, the center console is big enough to stow a laptop in. In the Crew Cab, folding the rear seats up give access to a utility tray that flips out to keep the load floor flat.
Safety Features
All F-250s come with anti-lock brakes and front airbags, but side airbags are not available.
Driving Impressions
There will be no mistaking an F-250 SD for a sports car, but the ride is smooth and comfortable, and the truck is easy to steer even for smaller persons. An options for power adjustable pedals on the Lariat makes it even more suitable to non-giants who may still need a big truck. The plentiful low end torque makes typical passing duties a non-issue in the Lariat. All in all, the F-250 Lariat is an excellent choice for those who really need the power and utility a truck of this class brings to the table.
